T536. Iron sukashi tsuba with various soft metal plugs. 8.5 x 8.5 x .4 cm on the shakudo fukurin. Tha nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 2.5 cm. Early abstract art here. There are plugs of copper, brass, silver or lead, and shakudo; no idea what the design represents but it sure is great. This is a tsuba that I have owned, a piece from my collection, for at least 10 years. It comes in a box with pillow (there is a water stain on the lid) and with a paper, from The Fittings Museum I beleive, dated 2001 and giving the work to Shonai Shoami, Edo Jidai.

I think I’ll miss this one. $695.
