T112.   Iron sukashi, ex Skip Holbrook collection.  Skip’s tag said (the tag is missing), “Higo, Hirata Hikozo tagane signed, Hosokawa mon, early Edo.”  Another knowledgeable collector looked at this and he said, “Old, 15th century, Tosho/Katchushi/Shoami.”  Whatever it is, it is fine.  7.5 x 7.6 x .3 cm with a hint of tekkotsu on the mimi; excellent condition.  $250.
