A116.  Iron sukashi of gourds and a bird in flight.  6.8 x 7 x .4 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 2.6 cm.  The edges of the gourds, at the sukashi and along the rim, have been filed and filled with brass, a process that has created greater depth to the design.  I can’t recall having seen this technique used before.  Condition is excellent.  $175.
