T440.  Papered Higo Kinko tsuba.  6.8 x 7.3 x .5 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm.  The metal is shinchu (brass) and the design is karakusa in ke-bori.  The niku falls off from the seppa-dai outward, leaving a raised rim.  The karakusa wraps nicely around the rim.  Condition is excellent.  The paper is Hozon from the NBTHK, dated 2017 and giving this to Kodai (later generation) Higo.  This comes in a fitted box with pillow and a former owner’s label: Higo, Kanshiro Shodai, Shinchu-ji karakusa bori.  $1,295.
