T314.  Iron tsuba with sahari inlay.  7.4 x 8 x .4 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm.  Sahari is a very hard and dense alloy and it is never found without a few bubbles appearing on the surface (1 each on 2 leaves of the turnip and a bunch of tiny ones elsewhere).  The iron is highly polished; the tsuba is smooth and glossy.  This is signed Nagatsune Saku and I would guess it to be mid to late Edo but I don’t know for certain.  $300.
