C110. Kanzan Token Koza volumes 5 & 6

C110.  Kanzan Token Koza volumes 5 & 6.  Various authors.  1982.  Clothbound in slipcases, 9 x 12 1/2″, 452 and 466 pages in Japanese.  Kanzan Token Koza is a 6 volume set that must have been published serially. For whatever reason, volumes 1 to 4 are relatively easy to find and volumes 5 & 6 are quite scarce.  These books were published after the death of Dr. Kanzan Sato, one of the founders of the NBTHK and The National Sword Museum in Tokyo and a world class scholar on Shinto, swords of 1600 and later.  The 1st 4 volumes of the set cover swords and swordsmiths; these 2 volumes cover kodogu.  Hundreds of examples of fine fittings are shown in crisp color and black & white photos, accompanied by a very thorough text.

These books are with a long time and trusted consignor to my site and he will ship from the US.  My usual guarantee applies.  Volume 6 is missing its slipcase and the spine is a tiny bit faded; otherwise conditions are excellemt.  13 pounds, 5 ounces.  $300.
