T172.  Yamagane Kinko tsuba.  6.4 x 6.5 x .4 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana measures .7 x 2.4 cm.  I don’t know enough to tell you if this tsuba would qualify as Ko-Kinko (old Kinko) or just Kinko; it’s priced as Kinko.  Birds and myoga (ginger) I believe: a common theme on sukashi tsuba.  There is a divot out of the rim at top on one side; no idea how that happened.  This is almost shakudo patina but not quite, which is why I’m calling it yamagane.  Wish I knew more.  Condition is excellent.  $175.
