T163.  Shakudo kogai.  1.3 x 22 cm.  According to the collector who sold this to me, the piece dates to around Oei period based on Sasano’s dating method.  The nanako background shows wear from age.  Not sure what the subject is: some sort of plant pod maybe.  There is a dent in the edge of the panel and a few minor kinks in the shaft.  Otherwise, condition is excellent.  Come with a box with pillow.  $250.
