Q878. Fuchi kashira. The inside dimensions of the fuchi are 1.7 x 3.2 x .8 cm. Shakudo plate with a fine, deep patina and shakudo, copper, and gold inlay of a Tori gate and pines on the fuchi, a priest/guardian with a lantern on the kashira. Doubtless this refers to some Japanese folktale but I have no idea which it is. Very nice work. $250.
