Q737. Kotsuka. 9.5 x 1.45 cm.  The plate is shakudo with the finest of nanako. The back plate is plain copper. Three figures: two holding a scroll and the third reading it (he is a general or some other person of importance, he’s holding a gumbai (signal war fan)). The people and scroll are rendered in shakudo, gold, and silver. This comes in a box. The work is wonderful; condition is pristine. Isn’t it amazing how much highly skilled labor can be had for such a reasonable price? $225.
