Q199.  Fuchi kashira in shakudo.  The inside dimensions of the fuchi are 1.9 x 3.6 x .9 cm tall.  The chrysanthemum in gold is raised noticeably above the plate; either the plate has been carved in raised relief and the gold is nunome or the gold is a thicker foil adhered to the surface.  Quite nicely done in either case and there is no loss of gold.  $295.
