H373.  Iron sukashi tsuba.  8 x 8.1 x .45 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is.8 x 2.7 cm.  From the Holbrook collection; Skip’s tag reads, “Higo Nishigaki I, Bamboo & snow, engraved detail, aged sukashi”.  The 2 ryo-hitsu are the snow flakes: nice, whimsical touch.  Excellent condition with a few prominent tekkotsu on the rim.  $950.
