H365. Tsuba signed Yasuchika

$350.00

H365.  Iron tsuba with raised relief carving.  7.6 x 7.9 x .35 cm at the slightly raised rim.  From the Holbrook collection.  Skip’s tag says, “Yasuchika, signed Yasuchika, chidori over pines, mid Edo.”  This tsuba has been published in the book, The Japanese Sword and Its Fittings by the Cooper Union Museum, 1996.  Similar to a tsuba in the book, Yasuchika (see the picture from the book), but I don’t think this is a real Yasuchika tsuba.  This tsuba was in Skip’s collection for over 40 years and never submitted to shinsa.  The carving is crisp and condition is perfect.  1st class tsuba.  Was $500, now $350..
