Q806. Fuchi Kashira. The inside dimensions of the fuchi are 1.6 x 3.4 x .7 cm. Signed Masanaga & Kao. This is, I believe, Ishiguro Masanaga (H781 in the Haynes Index). The story is Shoki the demon queller: Shoki stands menacingly on the kashira and the demon scurries away on the fuchi. The plate is shakudo. The demon is raised relief copper with gold and silver inlay; Shoki is carved from the plate and inlaid with gold. Condition is excellent; the set comes in a box. $350.
