A120.  Copper tsuba signed Joi.  6.7 x 7.2 x .3 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 2.3 cm.  Issando Joi was one of the Nara San Saku, the 3 great masters of the Nara Tradition.  With great fame comes great forgery and, unfortunately, I believe this to be a forged signature (gimei) of the master.  The work is very well done and condition is pristine, but it isn’t Joi.  If I’m wrong somebody will buy this for 2 cents on the dollar.  Nice tsuba in any case.  $395.
