A swordsmith’s hammer, age unknown but I do know it came out of Japan. Iron or steel head and red oak (I believe) handle. 11 1/2″ (29.3 cm) tall, 7 3/4″ (19.5 cm) across the head. There are no maker’s marks or corporate logos on this; I’m certain this was made by a craftsman in his shop. The handle wiggles a bit in the head, which could be tightened with a wedge if someone wanted it firm, but I’d just let it be. Wonderful aged patina on the head and handle; this would add a perfect accent to your Nihonto display. 3 pounds. $225
