B492.  Satsuma To Meisaku Shu by the Kagoshima Branch of the NBTHK.  1970.  Clothbound with slipcase, 8 1/2 x 12″, 217 pages in Japanese.  I love how the different branches of the NBTHK try to outdo each other with their regional sword books; here is another great one.  The 1st 74 pages are text and descriptions of the swords that are shown in crisp photos and well done oshigata in the rest of the book.  All the important smiths of Satsuma, from early in Koto up through Shinshinto, are included.

The slipcase is a bit ragged and missing its top.  The book’s cover has a bit of light foxing but nothing even close to serious and the spine is sun faded.  Otherwise all is fine.  2 pounds, 13 ounces.  Now $115.
