B109. Juyo Token & Tokubetsu Juyo Token, Hardbound
$80.00
B109. Juyo Token Nado Zufu and Tokubetsu Juyo Token Nado Zufu by the NBTHK at the National Sword Museum in Tokyo. The Juyo volumes are 8 1/2 x 12″, maybe 300 or 400 pages in Japanese. The Tokubetsu Juyo vaolumes are 10 x 14 1/2″, maybe a hundred or so pages, also in Japanese.
These books present the swords, koshirae, and fittings that have been awarded the Juyo and Tokubetsu (special) Juyo papers in the NBTHK’s most recent shinsa. When these books were printed they were given a weak, softbound binding, and they are usually found falling apart. The collector who originally bought the books – for about $400 each – had them hardbound in Japan. The volumes of Juyo I have are:
42nd Shinsa from 1996. 4 pounds, 5 ounces.
43rd Shinsa from 1997. 4 pounds, 4 ounces.
46th Shinsa from 2000. 7 pounds, 1 ounce.
48th Shinsa from 2002. 7 pounds.
49th Shinsa from 2003. 7 pounds, 13 ounces.
And of Tokubetsu Juyo I have:
All gone.
With the exceptions of a few gently bumped corners, all volumes are in excellent condition. You can have as many as you like at $80 each; buy a bunch and ask for a discount. As the volumes sell I will update this listing; if a volume is listed here it is available.
