T559. Lovely tsuba. 6 x 6.6 x 35 cm on the raised rim (.25 cm on the plate). The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm. Skillfully carved leaves and tendrills are highlighted with gold ten-zogan, all on a finely stippled plate of an alloy of copper (somewhere between shakudo and shibuichi). Condition is excellent; only one ten-zogan is missing from each side. This has a Hozon paper from the NBTHK, dated 2003 and giving the work to Ko-Kinko (early kinko). Was $575, now $495.
