T556. Fine Tsuba with Paper to Ko-Kinko

$325.00

T556. Ko-Kinko tsuba. 6.4 x 6.5 x .4 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm. Yamagane (copper or an alloy of copper) plate carved with waves; gold zogan wave crests and ten zogan droplets. Near as I can tell, none of the gold is missing. There is also a thin coating of a black lacquer, which adds a very nice touch. This one comes with a smaller than usual box in which the tsuba has sat for a long time (the cloth bottom has sun faded around the tsuba and through the ryo hitsu). A Hozon paper from the NBTHK in Tokyo, dated 1997, gives this to Ko-Kinko: Muromachi period. Condition is excellent; you won’t be disappointed. Now $325.
