T539. Higo Kumagai Tsuba, Rain Dragon

T539. Kumagai tsuba, iron with gold nunome zogan. 7.2x 7.6 x .4 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm. The collector I got this tsuba from gives it to Kumagai School, a group that worked in the Higo style. I am unsure how closely they were connected with the mainline Higo smiths. There is a rain dragon on the front and a vajra on the back. Nice quality iron in great condition; the gold is intact. This comes in a box with pillow. Was $1,195, now $975.
