T297.  Iron tsuba.  7.9 x 8.5 x .4 cm at the slightly raised rim.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 2.9 cm.  A man plays flute on the back of an ox next to a stream.  Plants and buckets on the reverse are worked in gold and silver.  The stream also is worked in soft metal but I’m not sure which, possibly copper or a copper alloy.  The iron plate is a soft hammered surface and the rim is expertly raised.  Condition is excellent.  $275.
