T284.  Katchushi iron tsuba.  7.8 x 8. .5 cm at the raised rim (.27 cm on the plate).  The nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 2.9 cm.  I’m calling this Katchushi (armor maker) but best guess is that it is mid to late Edo, not early.  Nice design well executed and in excellent condition.  $275.
