T281.  Iron sukashi tsuba, likely Akasaka School.  7.9 x 8 x .5 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .7 x 2.8 cm.  The theme is Musashino, grasses of Musashi plains, with the abumi (stirrips) of a fallen Samurai after a famous battle.  I would call this late, rather than early, but I’m often wrong and even if not it is still a quite nice piece in excellent condition.  $275.
