T267.  Iron tsuba with gold & silver inlay.  7.5 x 8.2 x .7 cm at the raised rim.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.5 cm.  This is an interesting tsuba in that the smith has left the folds open on the rim, something that requires great skill.  On the front a spider and salamander are facing off; one will have the other for dinner.  Condition is excellent with only the tiniest bit of inlay missing from the spider’s web.  $325.
