T251. Iron & Yamagane Tsuba, Possible Momoyama Shoami

$500.00

T251.  Iron tsuba with kebori carving of a stream with flowers worked in yamagane floating along.  6.4 x 6.8 x .4 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.7 cm.  This is an interesting piece that deserves a close look.  The iron appears to be very well worked with long and prominent lineal tekkotsu on the rim.  Each of the copper flowers is placed on a raised spot on the plate and between the flowers are interspersed tiny dots (ten zogan) also in copper.  I’ve been told that Robert haynes has looked at this tsuba and has given it to Shoami of the Momoyama Period.  Condition is excellent.  $500.
