T194.  Iron tsuba with applied soft metal vegetables and leaves.  7.5 x 7.6 x .35 cm on the plate.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 3 cm.  Very nicely done high relief vegetables (I see 2 eggplants and 4 of something else), leaves with a hollowed surface, and 3 sukashi of vegetables adorn the tsuba.  All are done in shakudo and a few are gold plated.  I would place this in late Edo but I don’t know that to be a fact.  Other than some of the gold having been rubbed condition is excellent. I think this is quite nice for the price.  $250.
