Q785. Crane and Turtle Tsuba by Akasaka Tadatoki
$725.00
Q785. Iron sukashi tsuba. 8 x 8.4 x .45 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.9 cm. The crane and turtle are meant to represent longevity, living a long life. There were more than a few smiths of the Akasaka School who signed Tadatoki; the 4th through the 8th or 9th masters signed this way. I don’t know which tadatoki made this tsuba but, whichever it was, he did nice work. $725.
