Q728. Yamakichibei tsuba

$175.00

Q728. Iron tsuba signed Yamakichibei. 6.3 x 7.2 x .3 cm. The nakago hitsu-ana is .85 x 2.5 cm. I’m unsure what the sukashi is supposed to represent; at first I thought a garden tool of some sort but what’s with those 2 small holes. There are udenuki ana at the bottom, a shakudo pillow in the ryo-hitsu, and prominent tekkotsu. Interesting tsuchimei (hammer work) and a yakite (melted) finish. Nice piece. Now $175.
