Q254.  Mokogata iron tsuba.  8 x 8.5 x .5 cm at the raised rim (.36 cm at the seppa dai).  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.7 cm.  An old man with a long beard sits beneath a tree; a youngster (or very tiny person) sits before him.  This probably comes from some bit of Japanese folklore but no idea which.  The head of the youngster has been smushed; otherwise good condition.  $195.
