Q233.  Large iron tsuba with extensive brass inlay.  8.5 x 8.5 x .4 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.8 cm.  There was a time in Japan when brass, which was imported from China, ws more valuable than gold.  The brass on this tsuba has a pleasant muted color and a wonderful soft patina; none of it is missing (which is remarkable).  There are subtle tekkotsu on the rim.  $295.
