Q225.  Iron tsuba with gold, silver, and shakudo inlay.  7.7 x 8 x .3 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.6 cm.  A man on horseback plays a flute while on the ground someone (a retainer?) kneels and offers a sword.  Another Japanese folktale, I’m sure, but no idea which it is.  The tree to the right of the horse alternates between the front and back sides; nice gold plugs in the ryo-hitsu.  $275.
