Q212.  Shakudo fuchi kashira with gold, silver, coppper, & shakudo inlay.  The inside dimensions of the fuchi are 1.6 x 3.2 x .7 cm tall; the nakago ana of the fuchi is .7 x 2.7 cm .  This set is slightly unusual in that the main subject appears on the kashira; the fuchi supplies background.  A fisherman with a torch pulls in a net at the prow of his boat on the kashira; plants and boat masts adorn the fuchi.  I’m continually amazed by how much highly skilled artistry can be purchased for what a bathroom sink might cost today.  This set is quite fine and flawless, and it comes in a fitted box.  $225.
