M236.  Copper tsuba.  7.7 x 7.9 x .4 cm.  The nakago hitsu-ana is 1 x 2.7 cm.  Normally with this style of tsuba I expect shakudo or patinated copper with gold & silver inlay; this one is copper and nothing but.  I think it works quite well.  This must tell a tale that originated in China and migrated to Japan; I don’t know which it is though.  The work is quite fine and condition is pristine: special.  $395.
