H407.  Iron sukashi tsuba.  8.3 x 8.5 x .2 cm (very thin plate).  The nakago hitsu-ana is .7 x 2.7 cm.  Skip Holbrook’s tag reads, “Ko Tosho, Choji, Tachi Changed Uchi Katana Early Muromachi”.  Skip is telling us that he believes this was originally a tachi tsuba (from the orientation of the choji (clove), that was later adapted to use on an uchigatana.  Subtle tekkotsu on the rim, great condition.  $195.
