H402.  From the Holbrook again: “Higo Hirata I, Umibari Hitsu ana”.  6.5 x 7 x .4 cm on the shakudo fuurin.  The nakago hitsu-ana is. 9 x 2.8 cm.  An umibari is a knife used to treat horses’ hooves; it is very rare to find a tsuba with a ryo hitsu-ana small enough that it must have been for an umibari.  There is a copper pillow in the other ana.  $275.
