C296. Iron tsuba with extensive soft metal inlay. 7.7 x 7.7 x .35 cm on the raised rim (.2 cm on the plate). The nakago hitsu-ana is .9 x 2.8 cm. Normally with this style of tsuba both sides of the plate would be covered with inlaid brass flowers and leaves; one side of this plate is relief carved in what may be a scene from nature. Both sides and the edge of the rim are inlaid. Unfortunately, much of the brass has been lost to use and time. $200.
