T282. Signed Jingo Tsuba with NBTHK Paper

T282.  Iron tsuba with gold signed Yatsushiro Jingo.  7.3 x 7.6 x .45 cm at the seppa dai (this thins out towards the rim).  The nakago hitsu-ana is .7 x 2.6 cm.  Jingo is one of the main branches of Higo kodogu; this likely is by the 4th generation Jingo.  The paper from the NBTHK is dated 2012.

At first glance the rain dragon appears to be missing gold but this isn’t the case.  When the tsuba was made the gold was partially abraded away to give this rustic appearance.  The brass zogan on the reverse is perfectly intact.

This comes with a fitted to the tsuba lacquered box with pillow, and the paper.  Condition is wonderful.  $1,750.
