B682. Japanese Master Swordsmiths: The Gassan Tradition by Morihiro Ogawa. 1989. Softbound, 8 ¼ x 11 ¾”, 85 pages in English and Japanese. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston hosted an exhibition of the Ningyen Kokuho, Japan’s Living National Treasures, among whom was swordsmith Gassan Sadaichi. Mr. Sadaichi traveled to Boston with his assistants, set up a shop, and made a sword. This book was published at that time. You get an essay on the Gassan tradition, a glossary, and great pictures and oshigata of blades of the Gassan School.
