B550. “Nihonto Newsletter” by Albert Yamanaka, reformatted and reprinted by The Northern California Japanese Sword Club. 2004. 4 volumes pressure bound, 8 ¾ x 11”, thousands of pages in English. Albert Yamanaka issued his newsletters monthly over almost 5 complete years.

Collectively they were a wealth of information, but finding something was a nightmare; similar subjects would be spread over all 5 years and many individual newsletters.  When the NCJSC published this reprint they kept all of the original but they completely rearranged the material into a more logical whole and added a table of contents for each volume.  Articles are grouped by time and geography; finding Swordsmiths of late Koto Soshu den is now easy.

The Yamanaka Newsletters are incredibly thorough; there is tons of useful material here.

Condition is excellent.  11 pounds, 7 ounces.  $250.
