B498.  Gendaito Meisaku Zuikan by Dr. Sato.  1977.  Clothbound with slipcase and 2 storage boxes, 10 1/2 x 14 1/2″, 265 pages in Japanese.  From a limited edition of 800 copies.  If you have an interest in Gendaito (swords made traditionally after WWII) this is the book for you.  The 1st 155 pages are very crisp black & white photos and oshigata of great modern blades.  The last 100 or so pages are text, a few illustrations, and biographies with pictures of the smiths.  This book is included in the Index of Japanese Sword Literature on the JSS/US website; there is an index of its contents.

Condition is excellent, near mint. A former owner has written in romaji (English letters) the names of some of the smiths on the pages; his name stamp is on the front end paper also and he has written the title in English on the spines of the slipcase and storage boxes.  7 pounds, 8 ounces.  Now $150.
