B448. Kyomono no Ko Meisaku by Yoshikawa & NTHK

B448.  Kyomono no Ko Meisaku by Yoshikawa Koen & NTHK.  1980.  Clothbound with slipcase, 8 1/2 x 12″, 133 pages in Japanese.  This book was published in conjunction with an annual membership convention of the NTHK.  For the occasion many highly important sword of the Yamashiro Den were on display.  Because of Mr. Yoshikawa’s connections to the Imperial Family he was able to borrow swords from their collection.  Needless to say, there is some impressive stuff in this book.

The front half is very well done oshigata of the Yamashiro treasures.  In the middle are color photos of a few fine kodogu.  The remainder of the book is given to oshigata of swords contributed by the membership of the NTHK.  This is a really great book.

This book has been translated into English by the JSS/US and is available in a softbound edition. The condition of this hardbound book is excellent, much better than the one in my picture. The one issue is the title of another book written mistakenly on the slipcase, Otherwise the book is like new.  2 pounds, 4 ounces.  Now $80.
