C241.  Nihonto Juyo Bijutsuhin Zenshu by Seishosha.  1985.  Limited edition.  2 volumes of a 9 volume set, 8 ½ x 12” in Japanese (The name of each artist is given also in English).  Juyo Bijutsuhin is a ranking given to art and historical objects by the Government of Japan; it is the last step below Kokuho (National Treasure).  You are buying the volume (clothbound with a glasine jacket, 125 pages) on koshirae and kodogu, and the volume (softbound, 210 pages) that serves as a list of plates for the entire set, including an index in English.  These 2 volumes occupy 1 slipcase and a cardboard storage box.  To see the entire set, see B395.

Koshirae, kodogu, and historical documents related to the swords and fittings, all with the Juyo Bijutsuhin rank, are presented in black & white photography, often 2 or 3 photos per item.  Very important and wonderful stuff here.
