T229.  Kotsuka in yamagane signed Naohisa with a kao.  9.9 x 1.45 cm.  Robert Haynes’ Index lists 4 or 5 smiths who signed Naohisa; I can’t tell you which this is.  The base is yamagane (mountain metal, copper) and 3 chidori (plovers) worked in shakudo with gold legs and silver eyes fly over water inlaid in silver.  Execution is wonderful and condition is near perfect (there are 2 very tiny dents, one on the back and the other on a side).  $250.
