H482. Kamakura bori tsuba. 8.3 x 8.4 x .3 cm (thin plate, .25 cm at the edge). The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.9 cm. This tsuba as well comes from Skip Holbrook’s collection and it will arrive with his photo and notes. He writes, “Kamakura bori. Earliest type, hitsuana added later. Bridge over water, rest shelter in mts. on way to temple in moon light – A pilgrimage.”

As is proper for Kamakuri Bori, the design is the same on both sides. The ryo-hitsu have been plugged with lead, I believe. Condition is wonderful: fine tsuba. $745.
