C334. Brass tsuba with tooled leather theme. 6.9 x 7.4 x .35 cm at the rim, slightly thinner at the seppa-dai. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.9 cm. Robert Haynes has seen this tsuba and he thinks it may be Higo, early Jingo. I am no one to argue with a foremost authority; I’ll go with that. There is a wonderful patina for a brass tsuba and the slightly raised rim is masterfully done. Great condition. Was $325, now $250.
