C293.  Iron tsuba with gold inlay. 6.1 x 6.6 x .4 cm at the raised rim. The nakago hitsu-ana is .8 x 2.5 cm. This is signed Yamashiro no Kuni Fushimi no Ju Kaneie. Kaneiye was a most important kodogu maker but, as is the case with the vast majority of pieces with his signature, this isn’t him. Robert Haynes thinks this is Aizu Shoami work. This comes with a paper board box with hako-gaki but, again, this isn’t him. Nice little tsuba in any case.  $195.
